Age UK Wiltshire Fitness and Friendship Club

Age UK Fitness & Friendship Club which will be launched in Marlborough. We are invited to advertise the club by displaying one of their flyers and/or leaflets (attached). Our Health and Wellbeing budget would support initiatives such as this too.

Fitness & Friendship clubs are a social club for older people with an emphasis on keeping active. Club sessions include gentle exercises, games, quizzes, and Tai Chi with plenty of time for a chat over refreshments.

Age UK Wiltshire currently run 13 local clubs across Wiltshire and Swindon (with the Marlborough club and 1 more about to start) and over 340 people attended a Fitness & Friendship club in their community last year. One of the attendees recently shared that “The Age UK Devizes fitness classes are not only useful but great fun with companions and leaders. The biggest plus is that we are not treated like old people.”

Recent events over the last few years have shown how important it is to keep as active and healthy as possible. The Fitness & Friendship Clubs give an ideal opportunity for older people to enjoy the company of others, laugh and have fun in a safe environment, under the gentle guidance of a fully trained member of the Age UK Wiltshire Fitness and Friendship Team.

The Marlborough Club takes place on alternate Tuesday afternoons from 2.00 pm – 4.00 pm at Marlborough Scout Hall, 45 George Lane, Marlborough, Wiltshire, SN8 4BX. To find out about Fitness & Friendship Clubs, please visit:
